Use official Spotify audio in the site player
Understand how the optional Continue with Spotify Audio feature works and why the owned preview remains the dependable fallback.
The normal site player uses artist-owned previews so every visitor can press play without a streaming-service account. Official Spotify audio is an optional handoff for listeners who authorize Spotify and have a Premium account that supports Web Playback.
When the prompt appears
The prompt appears only when the site owner has enabled official Spotify audio, the Spotify connector is configured, and the current Track has a Spotify URI. The first click opens Spotify authorization because the site cannot know account status before Spotify confirms it.
When a listener is not Premium
If Spotify confirms that the listener account is not Premium, Artist OS shows a short message, keeps the site preview playing, and hides the official-audio prompt for that browser session.
Visualizer and lyrics
Lyrics and visualizer timing stay tied to the owned site preview. Spotify official audio can play the full track, but Spotify does not provide the same reliable browser-side audio analysis and lyric timing contract for this visual system.
